TMA, established in 1925, is a 1400-member not-for-profit association of 1,400 of precision manufacturing and supplier companies in the greater Chicago area, including tool & die, mold, machining, special machine, component part, related services, and industrial distributor companies. The TMA supports its members by providing educational opportunities, industry representation, and services to foster member company global competitiveness.

IITManufacturing Technology and Management Programs are designed for individuals who are already knowledgeable and involved in manufacturing through community college education and work experience. The MTM curriculum provides information that enables students to build upon their specialized skills and expand their career opportunities to include managerial positions. The IIT-Manufacturing Productivity Center (MPC) has linked industry with the technology leadership of IIT since 1976, with the goal of improved productivity and competitiveness. The key to MPC's success has been a holistic approach that integrates management and technology. MPC's holistic approach spans all of the elements that are required to develop a high performance organization. MPC clients rely on staff and faculty to develop new products, materials and processes, and to create new supply and distribution channels, within the context of modern manufacturing management and an emphasis on continuous improvements for existing companies. MPC has provided services to over 1000 production and service companies, ranging from the Fortune 500 to very small companies that are involved in manufacturing engineered products.
