Michael L. Hetzel
With more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing Michael Hetzel first became involved with global trade in 1993, early in his 9½-year tenure as President and CEO of Broadview Injection Molding Co., Inc. At Broadview, he developed comprehensive operational initiatives along with a selective outsourcing strategy and several export markets. Over the next five years the company experienced 480% profitable growth as a direct result and was sold to a public corporation in September of 1999.

Subsequent to selling Broadview, Michael launched a consulting practice, Effective Manufacturing Strategies, working with U.S. manufacturers and tooling companies in several critical areas including global competitive strategies, strategic sourcing, global marketing, advanced quality practices, lean operations and plant design, while refining his strategic approach to global trade with each project.

Michael is presently Vice President/Americas with Pro QC International (www.proqc.com), a quality and engineering services firm with operations in 30 countries, and engages in global consulting projects as president of Northern Galaxy Corporation (www.northerngalaxy.com). He’s a member of the board of directors of the International Trade Club of Chicago (www.itcc.org) where he also chairs the Manufacturing Committee, a member of the Federal Reserve Bank Chicago District Industrial Roundtable, and a member of the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago. He regularly speaks and publishes articles on the subject of global manufacturing issues.
