Denise Bondy
for DaimlerChrysler Corporation
Denise Bondy was named Senior Manager - BIW & Fastener Production Procurement for Auburn Hills, Procurement & Supply, DaimlerChrysler Corporation on August 1, 2003. Prior to this position, she was Senior Manager – Executive Staff & Supplier Support, Procurement & Supply, Auburn Hills, DaimlerChrysler Corporation.

Bondy, with a staff of 17 employees, is responsible for the procurement of BIW, Chassis, Exterior and Power train stampings and fasteners for the Chrysler Group.

Bondy joined Chrysler Corporation in 1985 as a production buyer of standard parts.

    Bondy represented DaimlerChrysler Corporation as a voting member for Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), and was a member of the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center Advisory Council in her previous position. Today she continues to participate in the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Women’s Forum.

    Bondy was born August 20, 1957 in Germany. She is married and the mother to twin boys.

    Allen Shoopman

    Allen has 18 years of experience in Materials Management within the Healthcare Industry with Baxter Healthcare, Allegiance Healthcare, Tyco Healthcare and Cardinal Healthcare. Currently, he is Director of Global Sourcing for Cardinal Medical Products and Services Division. Allen is responsible for the coordination between the Cardinal Business Units and the Suppliers that have been selected for the sourced product opportunity. Allen works with each of the MP&S Business Units to identify projects for sourcing opportunities and with the sourcing teams to identify qualified suppliers that are capable of meeting our requirements. Allen also is involved with coordinating the projects until they are ready for distribution into the U.S.

    Allen has a BS Degree from the University of Tennessee and APICS Certification.

    Matthew Puz

    Matthew Puz is Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Dudek & Bock Spring Manufacturing Company. In addition to his sales & marketing-related tasks, he has been intimately involved in the process of broadening Dudek & Bock’s from a single site, stand alone Chicago-based operation into a three (3) facility, mini-portfolio of businesses including an automotive-focused, Detroit-based acquisition as well as through direct investment in a company owned operation in Mexico.

    Prior to working for Dudek & Bock, Mr. Puz started his career in technical sales with The Timken Company's Alloy Steel Division in Detroit, MI with major account responsibilities including The Chrysler Corporation followed by a stint as the Division Manager for a U.S.-Japanese start-up joint venture company commercializing licensed inorganic surface treatment technology in North America.

    Since 1997 Mr. Puz has taught a variety of MBA courses in the Chicagoland area for The Keller Graduate School of Management including Marketing, Strategic Management, Managing Organizational Change and Leadership & Organizational Behavior as well as Marketing at the Lake Forest Graduate School Management since 2003. Mr. Puz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy from The Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from The University of Michigan.
     
    Doreen Huro Michelini, CPM
    for Industrial Molds, Inc.
    Doreen Huro Michelini, C.P.M. is vice president and partner in GBMC Precision Co. Ltd. GBMC is a manufacturer with extensive experience in prototyping, tooling, stampings and molding; president of China Mexico Solutions LLC providing consulting services to companies wanting to source, manufacture or re-locate to China or Mexico; and president and partner in AJ International LLC an importer of cold headed product located in Chicago. Prior to these positions, Doreen spent 4 years with Dial Tool Industries, Inc. as vice president, global operations where she set up and managed manufacturing facilities in Mexico and China and warehousing in Malaysia and Brazil. Additional experience came from her 20 years with Cooper Bussmann as global sourcing manager. She is a past president of NAPM (National Association of Purchasing Managers) – Chicago, is currently on the board of the economic publication The Chicago Report, and association Treasurer. She is a member of the International Trade Club of Chicago (www.itcc.org) board of directors and of the planning committee for the AutoMed 2005 Global Manufacturing Series. Doreen was recently nominated and confirmed to the City of Chicago Mayor Daley’s Sister City Committee – China. She holds a Bachelors degree in marketing, travels around the world as a guest speaker and seminar presenter on international business topics and writes for several business publications.

    H.J. Carleton

    Jim Carleton is a member of the executive leadership team and VP, Operations at Iroquois Industries, a tier one supplier of chassis stampings and assemblies to the automotive industry. Jim is responsible for helping guide the strategy and implementation of processes/procedures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency, thereby better enabling the organization to meet increasingly stringent customer requirements for quality and timeliness.

    Jim brings more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his business career in manufacturing at LTV Steel and subsequently joined DaimlerChrysler. Joining the Procurement & Supply organization of Chrysler in the early 80’s, Jim worked through Chrysler’s transformation from a traditional functional organization to a matrix management Platform organization in the late 80’s and 90’s. During this period he held a new number of increasingly responsible positions in the Purchasing and Supply organization.

    Jim later joined MSX International as Sr. Vice President, Engineering & Supply Chain Management. In this capacity he managed an organization that provided consulting and business process outsource services to automotive and defense suppliers in the area of supply chain management and product development services.

    Jim graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in economics and marketing research.

    A. Michael Hanna is the chairman and CEO of NewMedical Technology. He is also the founder and chairman of BioAngels, a non-for-profit Angle network that focuses on investing in startup companies in the fields of life Science, medical device, & health care technology. Previously, Mr. Hanna started, acquired, and sold a number of other enterprises both in the medical, manufacturing, and technology industry such as, AMS, a provider of surgical products and instruments; InterPro Global Partners, a leading provider of global e-business solutions, Expense Express, a leading provider of travel & expense software, InterPro Translation, a leading provider of global multilingual solutions. He has extensive experience in managing startup and global companies including merger & acquisitions. He was the director of Technology at CII (Communication Instruments Incorporated) and has worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers & the US Navy and held top Secret clearance. He is on the boards of BioAngels, NewMedical, M&H Investment LLC, OSF, STS, and previously served on the board of DePaul University’s International Management School and Orbis. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master in International Business Administration from Dudley College in the U.K., and a B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
     
    David Kouidri
    for Polydec International Inc.
    David Kouidri is the president of Polydec International Inc., a Swiss manufacturer of microtechnology, and established its North and South American office with headquarters in Chicago in 2005. Polydec's markets of interest include micro motors (such as automotive and robotics), micro surgical tools, semi-conductor testing equipment and others.

    Until recently, David Kouidri was the Trade Commissioner of Switzerland, and a member of Swiss Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since January 1998. As an expert in industry promotion initiatives and new market development, Mr. Kouidri marketed Swiss industries and business in the US. Among areas of concentration, Mr. Kouidri was an initiator of numerous high technology based facilitation efforts, specifically in the field of nanotechnology, biotechnology, machinery manufacturing and the environment. He was also a key initiator for the now famous Cows on Parade program that took place in Chicago in 1999. He has been the lead advisor to over 60 Swiss companies regarding entry strategy into the US. Prior postings in the private and public sector include, Vienna, Austria, Paris France, Annapolis Maryland, and Geneva Switzerland, where he worked for the United Nations. Mr. Kouidri holds an MBA in International Business from DePaul University (Kellstadt), and a BS in Marketing from Bentley College in Boston. He is fluent in German and has good knowledge of French.

    Kouidri is an advisor and former director of the International Trade Club of Chicago (www.itcc.org). He was also recently appointed Special Advisor for Nanotechnology to the Swiss Business Hub USA, a division of the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he will continue to lead and facilitate efforts in this area with developed partners in the US and Switzerland.

    Jay Winkler
    for Tricon Industries, Inc.
    Jay Winkler is currently the Vice President of Internal Operations for Tricon Industries, Incorporated. His responsibilities include oversight of manufacturing, engineering, material management, accounting, human resources, and information technology for operations in the USA, Mexico and Europe. Recent globalization efforts by Tricon have expanded Jay’s responsibilities to include: the formation of Tricon Industries, Ltd., a foreign subsidiary established in the United Kingdom; the creation of a strategic alliance partnership with a company in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic; and the recent site selection and start-up of the company’s new operations in Mexico. Jay has been with Tricon for 14 years, having previously been the company’s Controller for 9 years.
     
    Tin-Chuen Yeung, PhD
    for Everest Intellectual Property Law Group
    Dr. Tin-Chuen Yeung is currently the Managing Director of Everest Intellectual Property Law Group, which he co-founded in April, 2004. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm as well as patent prosecution for his clients. He concentrates his practice in patent prosecution and intellectual property strategy counseling, particularly in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, bioinformatics, nanotechnology, medical devices and wireless communications technology.

    In his previous position as Head of Strategic Development of Life Sciences with the Chicago law firm of Bell, Boyd, and Lloyd, LLC, he was with the intellectual property group responsible for patent prosecution and client development in life sciences. He was the Vice Chair of the Biotechnology Committee of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. Before joining Bell Boyd & Lloyd, he was with the Chicago intellectual property law firm Wallenstein & Wagner, Ltd. Prior to that, Dr. Yeung served as President of Everest International, Inc., a consultant to Fortune 500 medical technology companies and start-up biotechnology companies. He has also served as Director of Strategy and Business Development for the Biosciences Division at Baxter International Inc., where he managed the strategy for world-wide development, marketing and manufacturing of recombinant protein products. He also served as Director of Corporate Development for Baxter responsible for management of Baxter’s acquisitions, technology commercialization, licensing and strategic alliances. Prior to his career in industry, Dr. Yeung was a Research Fellow in clinical pharmacology at Harvard Medical School. He also serves on the advisory boards of several companies.

    Dr. Yeung holds a BS degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in pharmacology from the State University of New York, as well as a Master of Management from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
